When starlet Carlson Young isn’t in bed watching Netflix with her Instafamous cats, she’s busy writing, traveling…and wishing she was a Harry Potter wizard.
With her busy schedule, it’s no surprise that her brain operates at a million miles a minute when she hits the sheets. But for Young — a.k.a Brooke Maddox on MTV’s hit series “Scream” — her success depends on her sleep.
“I love to sleep, and when I don’t get enough of it I tend to be pretty worthless,” says the native Texan.
We sat down with Carlson the to find out how she catches the zzz’s she needs to be her best self, both on the set and off.

I have trouble sleeping, honestly! I can never shut my mind off.

Carlson: I always spritz lavender spray on my pillow before going to bed. My mom always does that, too!
What do you wear to sleep?
Carlson: One of my husband’s huge t-shirts!

Go-to late night snack?
Carlson: Hummus + pita chips.
What makes you fall asleep?
Carlson: My sound machine usually helps cancel out the street noise at our loft so I can finally relax and sleep.
What’s your favorite Tomorrow Sleep product?
Carlson: The mattress is so comfortable. Definitely a remedy for my sleep trouble.
What was your last dream?
Carlson: I had an insane dream where I was chasing my cats around the streets of New York trying to find them…
What’s your biggest pet peeve when sleeping in bed with another person?
Carlson: I can’t handle any kind of snoring.
What else do you do in your bed besides sleep?
Carlson: I’m a straight-up cat lady, so I love to snuggle with my cats (and my husband!). I’m also a big reader and writer and do plenty of that in bed.
If you could cuddle with anyone in the world – past or present – who would it be?
Carlson: I wouldn’t mind throwing David Lynch in there, who my husband is both freaked out by and oddly ok with.
Are you an early bird or a night owl?
Carlson: I’m a night owl 1000%.
What’s on your bedside table right now?
Carlson: A glass of water and “Erosion” by Jorie Graham.
What do you want to be when you wake up?
Carlson: A Harry Potter wizard!
What city do you sleep in?
Carlson: Los Angeles.
